The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Herkimer announces the arrest of Frank M. Moracco, 60, of Frankfort, for official misconduct and petit larceny. Both charges are class A misdemeanors.
The arrest stems from an investigation that began in July 2015. Moracco, who is the village of Frankfort Mayor and employed as the sign shop foreman for the state Department of Transportation office in Herkimer, was providing the Frankfort Street Department with road signs that belonged to the DOT.
The investigation determined a total of 111 signs were taken by Moracco.
Moracco was issued an appearance ticket for Frankfort Town Court and is scheduled to appear May 3 at 6 p.m.
