Fletcher_Sonogram of the Manhunt in the Belly of the Beast (1)View, a multi-arts center located in Old Forge, NY, announces a reception, Saturday, May 7 from 5 to 7 p.m., celebrating the opening of the 2016 Central Adirondack Art Show and solo exhibitions by Bob Erickson, James Bellucci, Nancy Mills and Tracy Genovese. The reception is free and open to the public and will feature live entertainment by Gwen Tracy and an awards ceremony at 6 p.m.

The Central Adirondack Art Show, on view from May 7 thorugh June 12

The Central Adirondack Art show is a long-standing Old Forge tradition, showcasing some of the finest artists from the Central Adirondack Region and beyond. Held for the first time in 1952, by View founder Miriam Kashiwa in her front yard, the Central Adirondack Art Show is a testament to the special place the arts hold within the hearts and minds of the residents and visitors to the Adirondacks.

Bob Erickson: North, on view through July 10

The prints of Bob Erickson showcase his love and affinity for the northern landscape. The work explores the iconography of the Northern experience, from the forests and lakes of Central Wisconsin, to the rugged lands of the Adirondack Park, Scotland, Ireland and Norway,

James Bellucci: Anecdotes, on view through Aug. 7

James Bellucci is a Maryland native with a background in imaging arts and sciences. He received a Masters of Fine Art from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2009. His work analyses the slippage of narrative traditions, in reference to how narrative information is altered and manipulated to embellish and entertain audiences, yet strives to inform and provide certain elements of historical knowledge.

Nancy Mills: Beyond Branches, on view through July 17

Beyond Branches is a study of trees, their magic and majesty. Carved in linoleum block, the creative process behind these works is reminiscent of seeing initials carved in a tree trunk, while the building of a collagraph plate, layer on layer, is like viewing the rings of the tree. Color is utilized to symbolize seasons, in others a fine Japanese paper is used to capture the delicacy of seedpods and flowers.

Tracy Genevose: Beauty of the World, on view through July 17

Photographer Tracy Genovese brings the viewer along for a trip of the world through her camera viewfinder. Her vibrant photographs selected from her travels through China, Argentina, and the United States offer a unique personal perspective of life as she sees it through the viewfinder.
