On Monday, May 2, the New York State Police Campus Sexual Assault Victims Unit and the New York State Police in Binghamton arrested Matthew L. Kimball, 25, of 14 Kernan Ave., Utica, for one count of first-degree sexual abuse, a class D felony.
The arrest followed an investigation of an incident that occurred March 11 at Motel 6, 1012 Upper Front St., Town of Chenango, Broome County. Kimball was arraigned in the Town of Chenango Court and released on his own recognizance pending further court action.
The suspect and victim are students who are currently enrolled at Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica. The New York State Police were assisted by Mohawk Valley Community College Department of Public Safety.
