Two Teams of Volunteers Involved in Response
Two teams of volunteers from the American Red Cross responded to a fire on Martin St., Syracuse. One group was dispatched to the site to meet with family members who had arrived on the scene, as well as to provide refreshments to firefighters. The other team reported to an area hospital to meet with family members there.
Both teams included mental health caseworkers; licensed mental health professionals who are providing emotional support to family members and other Red Cross volunteers.
A total of eight Red Cross volunteers were involved in the response.
