state-police-seal-150x150Oneida-based state police charged an Oneida man with trespassing after he was observed walking along the CSX railroad tracks Thursday morning.

At approximately 9 a.m. May 5, Trooper Terry Horton was dispatched to a report of a man trespassing on the CSX railroad tracks between the city of Oneida and Verona.

Robert R. Klein, 28, of Williams Street, Oneida, was located walking on the railroad tracks near Randel Road in Verona. Klein was taken into custody for trespassing and was found to have a quantity of cocaine and marijuana in his possession.

Klein was charged with third-degree criminal trespass, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. Klein was also found to be wanted on an outstanding bench warrant issued by Verona Town Court for drug and traffic charges.

Klein was arraigned in Verona Town Court and remanded to the Oneida County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 bail bond and is scheduled to reappear in Verona Town Court May 17.
