state-police-seal-150x150Oneida-based state police charged Joshua D. Marsh, 31, of County Highway 50, Rome, with driving while intoxicated after he was found asleep at the wheel on Brown Road in Rome Saturday morning.

At approximately 2:05 a.m. May 7, troopers were patrolling on Brown Road in Rome when they observed a 2014 Dodge pickup truck stopped at a stop sign on Brown Road at the intersection of Greenway – New London Road.

The troopers observed that another vehicle came up behind the pickup and beeped the horn, but the truck did not move. Upon further investigation, it was found that the driver of the pickup, Marsh, was asleep at the wheel. Upon waking and interviewing Marsh, it was found that he had been consuming alcoholic beverages and field sobriety tests indicated that he was intoxicated.

Marsh was taken into custody for DWI and transported to the SP Oneida barracks for processing. Marsh refused a breath test and was arraigned on the charges of DWI and refusal of a breath screen. He posted $500 cash bail and is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court May 10.
