Trout Alexander J 020777On May 5 at approximately 9:50 p.m., State Police responded to a report of a one vehicle accident on I-90 near Exit 46.
The investigation revealed that a Chevrolet Malibu struck the guide rail in the center median. The driver of the vehicle, Alexander J. Trout, 39, of Ithaca, was found to be impaired by drugs, in possession of methamphetamine* and a hypodermic needle.
He was transported and processed at SP Henrietta where he was evaluated by a drug recognition expert. Trout submitted to a urine sample to determine the drug content in his system and was subsequently charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, an unclassified misdemeanor; seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor; and criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument; a class A misdemeanor.

Trout was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable in Henrietta Town Court May 24 at 5 p.m.
*Methamphetamine is a Schedule II Controlled Substance and is commonly referred to a meth.
