The 13 annual Canastota Central School District K-12 art exhibition. This event is an opportunity for artistic students in all grades to put their talents on display. The Art Department showcases student artwork of all mediums and all ages at the Vincent V. Albanese Educational Center at the Roberts Street building.
The theme this year is “The Butterfly Project.”
According to Denise Whalen, an Art Instructor in the Jr./Sr. High School, the Art Departments for all grade levels decided to use the butterfly as a symbol for art projects in the show.
“As Art Educators we have the ability to witness an amazing transformation from the time students begin creating art in kindergarten to the amazing ability of our high school students,” said Whalen. “We hope that you enjoy witnessing the growth of our artists as you view The Butterfly Project.”
Kindergarten through Senior student artwork will range from drawings and paintings to ceramics and a sculpture installation. Awards are determined and presented by members of the school administration, faculty, alumni and the Optimist Club.
WHEN: Thursday, May 12, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
WHERE: Vincent V. Albanese Educational Center, Canastota High School, 120 Roberts St., Canastota.
