Herkimer County Community College has announced a new associate in science degree program in Recreational Leadership. The College is accepting students into the program starting with the fall 2016 semester.
The program will teach students to manage organized leisure activities and recreational programs, plan recreational and leisure activities to meet the programming needs of diverse target markets, identify needs for leisure and recreational programming, assess therapeutic and adapted recreational programming needs, design sound therapeutic interventions involving recreational activities, evaluate therapeutic outcomes and results, develop personalized health, wellness and rehabilitation plans, and prepare diet, exercise and personal training applications.
Herkimer’s degree program in Recreation Leadership will provide an alternative to a traditional degree in Physical Education.
