(Boonville – May 21) While on routine patrol Troopers Lance S. Roczen and Mackenzie R. Werenczak , SP Remsen, received a report of a person possibly suffering from a drug overdose sitting in a vehicle with the engine running on the shoulder of Hawkinsville Road in the Town of Boonville. Troopers Roczen and Werenczak responded to the scene assisted by Boonville Village Police.
The investigation revealed that Amy R. Kent, 22, of Prospect, was unresponsive in her vehicle with engine running and transmission in gear. Trooper Roczen interviewed Kent, administered standardized field sobriety tests, and subsequently arrested her for DWAI-Drugs.
Kent was transported to SP Remsen for processing and later transported to New Hartford Police Department for further evaluation by a Drug Recognition Expert. Kent was issued tickets and released to a third party. She is to return to the Town of Boonville Court on a later date to answer the charges.
