The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation based in Lysander announce the arrest of Joel M. Wohlgemuth, age 34, from 102 Smith Street in Solvay, NY after a 10 month investigation into fraudulent credit accounts opened by Wohlgemuth.
This investigation was referred to the State Police by the Village of Solvay Police Department and New York State Parole. Wohlgemuth was arraigned in the Village of Solvay Court on the following charges:
- Identity Theft 1st Degree, a class “D” felony
- Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, a class “D” felony (2 counts)
- Grand Larceny 4th Degree, a class “E” felony
- Scheme to Defraud 1st Degree, a class “E” felony
- Falsifying Business Records Second Degree, a class “A” misdemeanor (8 counts)
Wohlgemuth is currently being held at Jamesville Correctional Facility in connection with a Parole Violation from a previous criminal case.
