IMG_1913IMG_1918On May 29, at approximately 6 p.m., State Police responded to John Glenn Boulevard near Long Branch Road in Geddes regarding a large tree that fell onto a vehicle.

The investigation revealed a 2016 Mazda CX5, operated by Joshua D. Lance, 38, of Avery Avenue, Syracuse, was eastbound on John Glenn Boulevard when a tree fell on top of the vehicle.

The driver and his passenger, Danielle L. Menzies, 33, of Baldwinsville, had to be extricated from the vehicle. Both were transported to SUNY Upstate Medical University. Lance was treated and released for non-life threatening injuries. Menzies is listed in critical condition with severe trauma to her neck and back.

The roadway was closed for several hours to allow the Onondaga County DOT to remove the tree from the roadway.

The investigation is continuing.
