Two local women were elected to the Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways Board of Directors and Board Development Committee during the annual meeting on May 21 in Cicero.
Joanne Iman was elected to the Board of Directors and Board Development Committee; andCathleen McColgin was elected to the Board of Directors.
Iman, from Cold Brook, is a vice president small business banker with First Niagara Bank. She has been in the financial services for 30 years, previously working at M&T Bank, SBU Bank and First Investors Corp. She holds a B.S. in Communication Studies from SUNY Brockport. She contributes her time and resources to the Campaign Committee of the United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica Area. She is actively involved with the Mohawk Valley Small Business Development Center, Mohawk Valley Financial Women’s Group and The Rome Arts Community Center.
McColgin, from Skaneateles, is the president of Herkimer County Community College. She graduated from Cayuga College with an A.A.S. degree in Nursing, Syracuse University’s College of Nursing with a B.S. degree; and a M.S. degree in Nursing and Ph.D. in Higher Education from Syracuse University. Her teaching career began in 1988 at Cayuga Community College as the Coordinator of the Nursing Arts Laboratory. She was appointed President of Herkimer County Community College in June 2015. Prior to that, she held the position of Provost and Senior Vice President of Onondaga Community College and Provost of Cayuga Community College’s Fulton Campus. She also serves on the boards of the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties and Mohawk Valley Edge.
