Oneida-based state police charged a Clinton woman with Aggravated DWI following a one car accident in the Town of Vernon Sunday afternoon.
At approximately 2:25 p.m. on June 12, Trooper Joseph LeWorthy responded to a motor vehicle accident on Youngs Road in the Town of Vernon. LeWorthy determined that a 2015 Subaru was traveling eastbound on Youngs Road near Stuhlman Road when it exited the south shoulder and struck a ditch and culvert.
The driver, Deborah A. Sefcheck, 55, of Hamilton Place, Clinton, was interviewed and found to have been consuming alcoholic beverages earlier in the afternoon. Sobriety tests at the scene indicated that Sefcheck was intoxicated and she was taken into custody for DWI. She was transported to the SP Oneida barracks, where a breath test determined Sefcheck had a blood alcohol content of .19 percent.
Sefcheck was issued traffic tickets for DWI and aggravated DWI with a BAC of .18 percent or greater and is scheduled to appear in Vernon Town Court June 22.
