On June 24, at 7:21 a.m., State Police from Carthage responded to a one-car motor vehicle accident on County Route 42 in the Town of Wilna.
Investigation at the scene revealed 67-year-old Timothy L. Roggie was traveling south bound on County Route 42 when his 2013 Ford F150 drifted off the east shoulder, sliding down a small embankment and striking a small culvert. When Troopers arrived Roggie was unresponsive, with no obvious traumatic injuries, and the vehicle sustained only minor damage.
He was transported to Carthage Area Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. No other persons or vehicles were found to be involved in this accident, and at this time it is believed Roggie may have suffered a medical event prior to his vehicle leaving the roadway. The investigation is continuing.
