Oneida police patchOn July 15 at approximately 2:27 a.m., the Oneida Police Department was dispatched to a reported stabbing at 209 North Lake St. The stabbing was the result of a dispute between two people who were familiar with each other. The suspect was taken into custody on scene and was subsequently charged with second-degree assault (felony),, criminal possession of a weapon and three separate counts of endangering the welfare of a child. The female victim was transported to the Oneida Health Care Facility and subsequently transferred to a Syracuse-area hospital. The victim sustained serious wounds, which are not believed to be life-threatening at this time. The suspect is identified as being Michael S. Stevens, 36, of 209 North Lake St., Oneida. He was arraigned on the above-listed charges in Oneida City Court and has been remanded to the custody of the Madison County Sheriff in lieu of $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.

Daniel J. Garrow, 35, of 4097 St. Rt. 26, Eaton, was charged July 12 with one count of petit larceny. He was released on an appearance ticket to appear in city court at a later date.

McKinley Bradley, 47, 6115 St. Rt. 20, Bouckville, was arrested on 7/13 on two separate arrest warrants both of which charged him with criminal contempt. He was arraigned in Oneida City Court and ROR’d to re-appear in court at a later date.

Howard J. Bender, age 32, of 108 S. Lake St., Oneida, was charged with disorderly conduct on July 13, 2016. He was released on an appearance ticket to appear in city court at a later date.
