The College of Nursing Alumni Association of Upstate Medical University awardedAriana R. Konieczko of Canastota, NY a Nursing Alumni Scholarship. Konieczko is studying inthe RN-to-BSN degree program, class of 2020, at Upstate. The Nursing Alumni Association awarded 22 scholarships totaling $20,000 to nursing students who have demonstrated academic excellence, professional and/or community leadership, and other eligibility criteria.
Konieczko earned an associate’s degree in nursing at SUNY Morrisville, and was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa nursing honor society. While studying she also works as an RN for Upstate University Hospital. She is the daughter of John and Lisa Konieczko of Canastota.
On receiving the Upstate CON alumni scholarship, Konieczko commented: “This support is helping me achieve my goal of obtaining a BSN degree. I am grateful because it will help me pay for school and allow me to move forward in my career. This scholarship is especially helpful to my family because I have a twin sister who is also going to college at the same time.”
The Upstate College of Nursing offers the bachelor’s degree in nursing; the master’s degree in nursing (Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Family NP, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nurse Educator and Family Psychiatric Mental Health NP); the Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP); as well as the Certificate for RN First Assistant, and Post-Master’s Advanced Certificates in Education or Family Psychiatric Mental Health NP. The Upstate Nursing Alumni Association comprises more than 2,400 graduates who help to sponsor annual scholarships, continuing education programs and other special alumni events.
