Morrisville State CollegeThe Morrisville State College football program is getting ready to hit the field for preseason training August 13th, and fourth year head coach Curt Fitzpatrick (18-13, 3 seasons) has made some coaching staff changes in the off season bringing an increased energy to the sidelines in 2016.

Fitzpatrick made three staff changes on the offensive side of the ball, while bringing a familiar face back to the Mustang defensive side this season.

He added wide receivers coach, Kenneth Tinsley, to the Mustang staff in the
spring, alongside newcomer Colin Pastorella who will coach the running backs this fall.

“Tinsley and Pastorella are two emerging coaches who bring tremendous positive energy and are great role models for our young men to follow,” said Fitzpatrick. “I’m confident they will take our wide receivers and running backs group to the next level.”

Tinsley comes to Morrisville State from Bates College in Maine where he served as the wide receivers coach and special teams assistant last fall, while also serving as an assistant for the strength and conditioning program.

Tinsley played three seasons for Central State University in Ohio where he started in the tight end position for a year, and saw time on the special teams unit as a kickoff and punt return specialist. He also served on the team’s leadership watch group, and was named a Marauder Scholar.

Pastorella played four seasons for the Continentals of Hamilton College at quarterback, earning the Buff and Blue Award and receiving National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete accolades his senior season.

Following a one year stint with St. Vincent College former Morrisville State defensive line coach Bill Pawloski returns to the Mustang sidelines as an assistant coach responsible for the outside linebackers unit.

Pawloski brings a wealth of experience to the Mustang sidelines, having also served as head coach of the elite Camden High School varsity program for 19 seasons. While at Camden, Pawloski had 11 winning seasons with five playoff appearances and five state rankings for the program. In 2003 he coached his team to a 10-0 season, claiming his second conference championship and a Section III Championship, the programs highest state ranking of eighth, and being honored with Section III Coach of the Year accolades.

Fitzpatrick also brought on board former Oneida High School head coach and legend Bill Carinci, who will oversee the tight ends corps this fall.

Carinci spent the past 29 years on the Oneida sidelines, the last 19 as head coach, where he compiled a 118-61 overall record, four league titles and a Section III Class B Championship Title in 2008. He is a five-time Section III Class B Coach of the Year honoree.

“Both Coach Carinci and Coach Pawloski bring with them very successful careers coaching at the high school level in Section III and beyond,” Fitzpatrick said. “Both are former high school teachers, and I have no doubt that they will be great at teaching the game of football and life to our student-athletes.”

“I am very excited to welcome these new members to our coaching staff this fall,” Fitzpatrick stated. “We are fortunate to add some experience to our staff and these four additions make our staff a very diverse, energetic and well-rounded bunch.”

“I am thrilled to have this group represent Morrisville State College and our football program,” he said.

Morrisville State opens preseason camp Saturday, Aug. 13, with a season-opening contest on the road at Saint Lawrence University Sept. 2.
