On Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, at 4:09 p.m., State Police responded to 1905 State Route 80, Otisco, for a reported individual pinned underneath an automobile.
The investigation revealed, a 1979 Chevrolet Corvette was parked with its front wheels on the ramped garage entrance of 1905 Route 80, Otisco. The owner of the vehicle, Wayne E. Grevelding, 42, from that address was performing mechanical maintenance underneath the vehicle behind the front left tire when the unoccupied vehicle rolled backwards, pinning Grevelding underneath the vehicle.
The vehicle was found not running, in reverse gear, did not have the parking brake engaged and did not have the wheels blocked.
A neighbor called 911 after he heard faint cries for help and saw Grevelding underneath the vehicle. Three members of the Otisco Fire Department along with Troopers were able to lift the side of the vehicle and pull the victim out.
Grevelding regained consciousness as the ambulance transported him to SUNY Upstate Medical University.
