The Mohawk Valley Rotary Club welcomed Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) student Nate Davenport back from Spain. Davenport who resides in Ilion said “the Youth Exchange Program through Rotary is an experience unmatched by any other. When those involved with the program say that it’s not just a life-changing event to the students, it’s also a complete eye-opening adventure to the host family, natural family, and both foreign and native friends of the outbound. I can’t stress enough that any youth or parent that is even remotely interested in an exchange program should contact Rotary as soon as possible.”
Davenport presented a PowerPoint to the Club members during their Tuesday meeting, he said “I was able to live just outside of Madrid, the capital of Spain, for about 9 months, and spent another month travelling all over Europe. I consider myself to be immensely lucky to have had this opportunity. With the event that I have been able to participate in, I feel as though the knowledge and friendships that I have gained are unsurpassed by nothing else.”
