Alzheimer’s-AssociationCatherine James, chief executive officer for the Alzheimer’s Association, Central New York Chapter, recently announced a number of changes to the organization’s staff.

NEW HIRES

Kristen Campbell, LMSW was named director of programs and services. She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department and execution of workplans related to government grants. She was previously employed by Brookdale Senior Living Solutions and Absolut Care Skilled Nursing Facility in Endicott. Campbell holds a bachelor’s from University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and a master’s in social work from Binghamton University.

Danielle Mensing was hired as an events manager. The Onondaga Hill resident will coordinate the organization’s two signature events, Walk to End Alzheimer’s and The Longest Day, as well as third-party events. Mensing is a 2015 graduate of Nazareth College, earning a degree in communications and media.

Candace Ovid was hired as chief relationship officer. This position on the Chapter senior management team is responsible for developing and enhancing personal and corporate relationships to expand the reach of the organization. Previously, she held fundraising positions at The Salvation Army, ProLiteracy and Syracuse University. She lives in Syracuse and is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Jennifer Winsor was hired as the constituent services coordinators. She organizes and manages data related to individuals contacting the organization. Winsor previously worked for the American Red Cross and Roosevelt Children’s Center. Winsor, who lives in Syracuse, has an associate’s degree from CCBI (now known as Bryant & Stratton College).

Melanie Beacham, Whitney Hadley and Katrina Kapustay were hired as associate program directors, and are responsible for delivering programs and services to the Chapter’s 14-county area.

Beacham, who graduated in May 2016 from Syracuse University’s Falk College of Human Dynamics with her master’s degree in social work, previously interned for the Chapter in its programs and services department. The Cicero native earned a bachelor’s degree from Nazareth College of Rochester.

Hadley has previously consulted with the Susan G. Komen, CNY Affiliate and Livestrong Foundation. A Fayetteville native, she earned a bachelor’s degree from Villanova and master’s degrees from Case Western Reserve University and Syracuse University.

Kapustay, a Cobleskill native who resides in North Syracuse, was previously the community health advocate coordinator and certified healthcare navigator for the Greater Watertown North Country Chamber of Commerce. She earned an associate’s degree at SUNY Cobleskill and bachelor’s degree from SUNY Empire State College.

STAFF CHANGES/PROMOTIONS

Stephanie Neuman was promoted to events director. The Syracuse resident started with the Chapter in 2011 and has held numerous roles in its fundraising department. Neuman is a SUNY Oswego graduate and native of Liverpool.

Sarah Parton was promoted to events manager. Parton, of East Syracuse, joined the Chapter in 2014 as its volunteer coordinator. She earned a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Brockport and is a native of Liverpool.

Toni Ann Walsh was named chief strategy officer. In this reorganized position, Walsh will oversee the Chapter’s events and operations and manage relationships with foundations. Walsh, who lives in Onondaga, joined the Chapter in June 2006. She is a North Syracuse native and graduate of Niagara University.
