lynne-reichhartThe Griffing Gallery of the Kallet Civic Center at 159 Main St., Oneida, will host an exhibition of paintings by local artist, Lynne Reichhart, beginning on September 23, 2016 and run through the end of October. The gallery is open to the public weekdays from 10 am -2 pm.

Reichhart graduated from SUNY Potsdam with a BA in Computer Science. After 20 years of corporate life, she turned to her passion for art and let her creative side emerge. She found the Munson Williams Proctor School of Art and began taking classes.

Lynne has always lived in Upstate New York in a rural setting. Much of her inspiration comes from nature and the beautiful Adirondack Mountains. She has also been lucky enough to travel to Europe with camera in hand for more inspirational subjects.

“Art should be evolving and, as an artist, I strive to improve and grow in my craft. I look to nature for my inspiration to reveal the atmosphere and the play of light and shadow in my work. I love to play with color and pump up the volume in my paintings. Ultimately, creativity is an internal process begging to become external. This transformation reveals a piece of me in every work I create”, she states.

She shows her work regionally including exhibitions at The Munson Williams Proctor Museum of Art, Rome Art and Community Center, The Frederic Remington Art Museum, the North Country Arts Council and other regional venues. She has also shown nationally and internationally in the Twitter Art Exhibit.

Lynne has had the privilege of having her work included in Hollywood award show gift bags for The Emmy Awards and The Golden Globe Awards to name a few. She has also had her work published in several books. Reichhart has work represented in private collections throughout the country as well as Europe and Australia including several commissions. She works form her home studio in Westernville painting and selling her art from online venues.
