Oneida based state police charged a Verona man with aggravated DWI after a traffic stop late Thursday evening in the town of Verona.
At approximately 11:40 p.m. on September 15, Trooper Steven Fountain stopped a 2014 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck after observing the vehicle make a right turn from State Route 31 onto East Main Street and drive for a short distance in the wrong lane before abruptly jerking the vehicle back into the eastbound lane.
After interviewing the driver, Ryan J. Tuggey, 37, of Dwyer Road, Verona, it was apparent that he had been consuming alcoholic beverages and sobriety tests indicated Tuggey was intoxicated.
Tuggey was taken into custody for DWI and transported to the SP Oneida barracks, where a breath test determined his blood alcohol content to be .20%. Tuggey was ticketed for DWI, Aggravated DWI with a BAC of .18% or greater and failure to keep right and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Verona Court on Sept. 27, 2016.
