anthonydelucaAnthony DeLuca has been appointed as men’s and women’s head bowling coach for the 2016-2017 season. He will be responsible for scouting, recruiting, match and practice planning and player development.

DeLuca was an assistant coach for the program while under the direction of P.J. Anadio. Together both helped the program to consecutive seventh place finishes in regionals, then 14th overall at the national championship tournament.

DeLuca’s 2015 efforts culminated in helping sophomore Trevor Marston to the All-Region team where he bowled a 1596 in All-Events.

“I am honored to be the new head coach for the bowling program,” said DeLuca. “I’m looking forward to working for one of the best athletic departments in the country. I believe we have a wealth of talent, and will not only be competitive this year, but for years to come. I appreciate this opportunity, and look forward to the upcoming season.”

In addition to his coaching duties, DeLuca helps the athletic department on game days as a clock operator, also giving up time to help run our state of the art fitness center. Born and raised in Frankfort, NY, DeLuca holds an A.A.S. in Sports & Recreation Management from Herkimer College. During that time he bowled for the Generals and has since competed in numerous state and professional tournaments.

“I am happy to hand the bowling program over to Tony,” said Athletic Director Donald Dutcher. “He is an alumni, and former student-athlete bowler, thus knows what it takes to be successful at this level. He will bring energy and excitement to the program, and I believe, will be competing for a regional title in the near future.”
