glenn-brooksJoin Clear Path for Veterans in Chittenango on Oct. 30 for a relaxing, family-style brunch buffet put on by Clear Path’s Executive Chef Sean Galloway.

A wide range of foods will be served, including bacon, sausage, pancakes, French toast, eggs, yogurt bar, smoked salmon, omelet station, fried green tomatoes, two carving stations, and a chocolate fountain featuring fresh, hand-picked fruits.

Clear Path supports local Veteran-owned farms, and will be using ingredients from women veteran-owned Creekside Meadows, Greyrock Farm and Trader Joe’s in order to create and prepare the meal.

Galloway, who recently assumed the title of Clear Path’s executive chef, said he is excited to share his passion for culinary along with coordinating the many volunteers who assist with the food prep. Two dishes Galloway recommends trying at the upcoming brunch are applewood smoked salmon and succulent roasted turkey.

Food will be served between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with all proceeds going to support Clear Path’s culinary program.

The culinary program works with veterans on every aspect of food growing, preparing and serving. The culinary program offers veterans a variety of learning opportunities: from knife skills and basic recipes and techniques to other skills that prepare them for a well-fed life at home or a job in the culinary world.

“The culinary program offers a variety of workshops and specialty classes by Executive Chef Adam Coleman,” Galloway said. “Veterans experience the benefits of preparing and sharing nutritious meals for others at numerous events hosted throughout the year that are open to the public, such as the brunch.”

Although walk-ins are welcome, you may call ahead to (315) 687-3300 to reserve table space for your party.

Cost is $20 per person, $10 for children under 12 years of age, and children four and under eat free.

Clear Path for Veterans is located at 1223 Salt Springs Road, Chittenango, just east of Syracuse off Route 5.
