evansb16The North Eastern Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners Tuesday, naming Morrisville State College senior Byron Evans (Cazenovia) the co-Runner of the Week for the week ending Oct. 2 in cross country.

Evans was the individual winner at the Lancaster Bible College Charger Invitational on Saturday, leading the pack of 82 for the first place finish with a time of 27:36 in the 8K race, for his first win of the season.

His finish, which came 46 seconds ahead of the second place winner, led Morrisville State to a third place team outing in the field of eight teams that also included seven conference competitors.

The senior is majoring in automotive technology at Morrisville State. He is the son of Merry and James Evans of Cazenovia.
