ColgateRaidersThe Colgate men’s and women’s soccer teams have both received the 2015-16 NSCAA College Team Academic Award, as recently announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of  America.

To qualify for the award, the team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year. The team GPA is determined by adding every player’s GPA, then dividing by the number of players.

The Raider women finished the 2015-16 school year with an impressive 3.43 team GPA, while the men recorded a 3.08 cumulative mark.

A total of 893 soccer teams (315 men, 578 women) across all collegiate divisions earned the award. Colgate was one of 223 schools to earn the award on both the men’s and women’s side.

Both Raider soccer teams return to action this week against Cornell as the women host the Big Red Monday and the men welcome the in-state foe Tuesday. Kickoff for both games is set for 7 p.m. at Beyer-Small ’76 Field.
