Nine members of the Colgate softball team have been recognized for their academic success as they were named Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athletes, as announced recently by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
Tara Grennan, Kyle Griswold, Gillian Murray and Pami White all landed on the list that celebrates academic success. Former Raiders and Class of 2016 graduates Megan Carnase, Alex Gadiano, Brigit Ieuter, Alessandra Moore and Mariel Schlaefer also earned the recognition.
The Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athlete award is given to a player submitted by a member coach who achieved a 3.50-grade-point average or higher during the 2015-16 academic year. The Raiders landed more players on the Scholar-Athlete list than any other Patriot League team.
Colgate is in the midst of its fall training season and will open up the 2017 campaign in February.
