New York State Police Superintendent George P. Beach II is saddened to announce the death of Trooper Timothy P. Pratt.

Trooper Pratt, age 55, died Wednesday morning as a result of injuries suffered when he was struck by a vehicle on Ballard Road in Wilton.

At approximately 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Trooper Pratt was assisting the driver of a tractor trailer on Ballard Road, near the Wilton barracks, when he was struck by a passing car and critically injured. Trooper Pratt was initially treated at Saratoga Hospital, and was airlifted to Albany Medical Center where he died at approximately 9:30 a.m.

trooper-pratt1Trooper Pratt became a member of the New York State Police on March 30, 1987. Trooper Pratt was assigned to the Traffic Incident Management unit at the State Police station in Wilton. He served his entire career with the State Police in Troop G.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1979-1986.

Trooper Pratt lived in South Glens Falls, and is survived by his fiancée, two sons and a daughter.
