PAR Technology Corporation hosts economic discussion
Congressional candidate Kim Myers toured PAR Technology Corporation in New Hartford today. Hosted by CEO Karen Sammon, Myers was provided an overview of the company followed by a roundtable discussion with several Utica-area industry leaders representing education, finance, law and various businesses.
Sammon introduced Myers by quoting Theodore Roosevelt: “‘It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles…The credit belongs to the woman who is actually in the arena…because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends herself in a worthy cause.’ Kim has courage and is daring greatly for all of us.”
“PAR is investing in the Upstate economy, creating new jobs and expanding their business,” said Myers. “We need to do more to help businesses like PAR by reducing burdensome regulations and investing in education for the skill sets that will be needed for jobs of the future.”
Myers repeated her call for investment in infrastructure, for our roads and bridges and high-speed internet. She also highlighted the potential of rail transit as another means of connecting Upstate with downstate customers.
