New Woodstock Boasts First “Trail Life” Troop in NYS

Trail Life USA is a faith-based scouting organization that provides youth mentorship and character  development to more than 20,000 boys in the United States. New Woodstock is home to the first Trail Life troop established in New York and one of only five presently in operation across the whole state.

Operating from troops that are chartered through churches in 48 states, Trail Life’s K-12 program centers on outdoor experiences that build a young man’s skills and allow him to grow on a personal level and as a role model and leader for his peers.

Trail Life’s Troop 54 typically meets twice monthly at the Federated Church of New Woodstock, with campouts planned throughout the year at various locations. Special adventure trips have included Gettysburg, Whitewater Rafting in PA, NYS Capitol Tour, and Overnight Crew on the USS Slater Destroyer Escort.
