The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian team claimed fourth place at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Skidmore College show Saturday, finishing with a combined 29 points in team rides.
Skidmore was high point team for the show with 44 points, while Colgate earned reserve high point team honors with 33 points. Hartwick was third with 30.
Morrisville State turned in four blue ribbon rides across three different classes, including a winning ride by Marcus Livermore (Syracuse) in the novice equitation on the flat class. Livermore also earned a second place ribbon in the novice equitation over fences class.
Casey Warren (Cranston, RI) rode to the top of the novice equitation over fences class in her section, capturing the blue ribbon ride for the Mustangs, while teammate Olivia Fam (Southborough, Mass.) also collected a first-place ride in the novice equitation on the flat class.
Rebecca Dominic (Baldwinsville) was the final blue ribbon winner for the Mustangs, topping the beginner walk trot canter class with her winning ride.
Morgan Wilsberg (Mattituck) and Megan Hunsinger (Cato) each placed second in their respective classes, Wilsberg in open equitation over fences, and Hunsinger in intermediate equitation over fences.
Morrisville State hosts two shows on the upcoming weekend, both slated to start at 9 a.m. at the hunt seat riding arena on Fearon Road on each Saturday and Sunday.
