ColgateRaidersRaider Senior Graduating in December; Set Career Scoring Record at 74.39

The conclusion of the fall golf season also marked the end of one of the great careers in Colgate Golf history.

Ryan Allison is graduating next month and beginning a career with RWC Partners in Tampa, Florida. He departs as the all-time Colgate leader in scoring average, both in relation to par at 3.13 and overall at 74.39.

Allison tops the Colgate career charts for rounds of par or better with 18 and birdies with 201. The Melbourne, Florida, native played 87 rounds for the Raiders and counted toward the team score 84 times, a career 98.8 percentage rate that also is the best in program history.

“Ryan Allison raised the bar for Colgate Golf, both on the course and in the classroom.” Colgate head coach Keith Tyburski said. “The positive footprint he has left on this program will be felt for generations of golfers to come.

“The opportunity Ryan has is a result of his work ethic and the determination he has. We will surely miss his presence, but are thrilled for him. Even more special is that this was created through the generosity and mentorship of a Colgate Golf alumnus, which speaks volumes to the wonderful and passionate alumni we have.”

Next Chapter

Allison worked with RWC Partners in London during the summer, and the economics major is looking forward to the next chapter in his young life. The opportunity to graduate midyear and begin his professional life – although it won’t be on the golf course – was just too good to pass up.”

“Playing on the golf team at Colgate was the best decision I have ever made,” said Allison, who was a three-year team captain and Colgate’s three-time team MVP. “I will always have great memories of all of the amazing experiences I had while being a member of the golf team.

“There are many people who helped shape my career at Colgate – coaches, teammates and alumni – to whom I am very thankful.”

Allison won the 2014 Colgate Invitational, making a 7-foot putt on the final hole to claim a one-stroke victory. He posted scoring averages of 76.08, 74.70, 73.15 and, this season, 73.29. His sophomore and junior scoring averages rank among the top-five in Colgate history.

Allison during his four-year career also has been on the course for six of seven lowest rounds in program annals.

Excellent Student

Among Allison honors are 2015-16 Cleveland Golf/Srixon Division I All-America Scholar, 2015-16 Patriot League Men’s Golf All-Academic Team (one of five selected) and September 2014 ECAC Golfer of the Month. He’s also been an annual member of both the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and Colgate’s Raider Academic Honor Roll.

“Ryan Allison embodies the true meaning of a student-athlete. He helped take this program to new heights, and represented us on and off the course with dignity and class.” Tyburski said. “We wish him all the best as he prepares for life as a proud alum.”
