WHERE: Oneida Community Mansion House, 170 Kenwood Ave.

Oneida Community Mansion House is home base for a week-long day camp geared to young learners ages 7 to 12. Campers will explore the National Historic Landmark site under the expert guidance of history educators from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. each day, Dec. 27 through 30. 

Camp activities include hands-on, inquiry-based explorations of 19th and early 20th century buildings and objects, art projects, snowshoeing and other wintertime outdoor activities, and a presentation by the Shako: Wi Cultural Center.

The complete camp fee is $60 for OCMH members and $70 for non-members. Space is limited and registration closes December 20th. Children are provided mid-morning snacks, but must bring their own lunch. No refunds will be made after the first day of camp. To register, call 315-363-0745, ext. 4223, during business hours.

The Oneida Community Mansion House was the residence of the 19th century utopian Oneida Community (1848 – 1880). OCMH preserves, collects and interprets material culture, intangible heritage, and five historic buildings, situated on 33 acres of landscaped lawns and gardens. OCMH is a National Historic Landmark and chartered by the New York State Department of Education.

The House is open for visitors Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Guided tours are provided (with admission) Wednesday through Saturday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m.
