From Monday December 5th through Sunday December 11th from 1:00-4:00 pm(Thursday and Friday nights 7:00 to 9:00 pm as well) the Lorenzo State Historic Site will host “Christmas at Lorenzo:  Dreaming of a White Christmas.”  Inspired by the Irving Berlin song, this year’s holiday celebration will play upon the winter imagery of crystalized trees, a mangle of snow, frozen lakes and crisp winter skies.  This annual event will feature holiday refreshments, live music, sleigh rides (on the weekend weather permitting), ornamental crafts and holiday treats.  Admission is $6 for adults and $2 for children.  For more information please visit www.lorenzony.orgor call Diane Voss at 315-655-3200 extension 100.

On Monday, December 5th,  at 6:00 PM the Fabius Historical Society will have its annual pot-luck supper at the Fabius Community Center.  Attendees are asked to bring a dish to pass and your own tableware.  At 7:00 PM Eileen Rose and her musical group will provide a special selection of music.  This event is free and open to the public.  For more information please call Sandy Bellinger at 315-683-5878.

On Saturday December 10th at 1:00 pm the Cazenovia Library will host a special presentation by local artist and veteran Lee DuSell of Erieville. DuSell, a retired Syracuse University art professor, has artwork installations that have been featured in offices, sacred places, campuses and government buildings. His doors, desks and miscellanous pieces have been included in the World Trade Center Twin Towers, the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency, and the Shiga Sacred Garden in Shigaraki, Japan. DuSell will speak on his career as an artist, what motivated him and other stories pertaining to his career. There is no charge for this event. For more information please call 315-366-2453.

On Saturday December 10th at 1:00 pm the Oneida County Historical Society will host a special presentation about the Christmas Lights at Trinkaus Manor.  For over 40 years the annual Christmas display at Trainkaus Manor drew thousands.  At its peak it featured over 750,000 lights.  Judy Mallozzi and Dana Nimey-Olney of the Whitesboro Historical Society will talk about the history of Trinkaus Manor and its Christmas traditions.  There is no charge for this event.  For more information please call 315-735-3642 or visit www.oneidacountyhistory.org.

On Sunday December 11th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm the Madison County Historical Society will host their annual Victorian Christmas Open House. Come and enjoy the holiday season by viewing Cottage Lawn festively decorated by area garden clubs and floral shops.  Starting at 1:00 pm a special holiday concert featuring the Oneida Chorale Ensemble, at 1:30 the Oneida High School Select Choir will perform, followed by the Whitelaw Ringers of Praise Ensemble at 2:00, the St. Pat’s Angles at 2:30, the VVS Sting Ensemble at 3:00 and finishing with the Holy Cross Academy Choir at 3:30.  You can even get some of your holiday shopping done at the society’s gift shop and enjoy some holiday themed refreshments.  There is no charge for this event.  For more information please visit www.mchs1900.org or call 315-363-4136.
