Lorenzo will shimmer throughout the holiday season as the 1807 home of Cazenovia’s founder is bedecked in wintry finery forDreaming of a White Christmas at Lorenzo, which began on Monday, December 5 and runs through Sunday, December 11, 1-4 pm each day.
Highlights of “Christmas at Lorenzo” this year includes extended hours, more live entertainment and two evenings of “Christmas by Candlelight” on Thursday and Friday, December 8-9, from 7 to 9 pm each night. Groups of 12 or more are also welcome to pre-register for weekday tours throughout the month of December.
Merry Mischief’s “Mr. and Mrs. Claus” will delight visitors of all ages during both “Candlelight” nights, and live musical entertainment will be provided by Eileen Rose on dulcimer Thursday evening, and the Belle Aire Handbell Trio on Friday night.
John and Sondra Bromka of Bells and Motley will take center stage in the Mansion on Saturday and Sunday, December 10 and 11, with Joyful Noise of St. James sharing holiday carols on Saturday, and Victorian Whispers purveying period-style photographs of patrons on Sunday. In the visitor center, live fiddlin’ will be also be offered on Saturday, and a special appearance by performers from Red House Arts Center will take place on Sunday.
Throughout Friday’s “Candlelight” and weekend hours, performers from the Cazenovia School of Ballet will welcome patrons to the visitor center. Wassail, peanut brittle, sweets, and sleigh rides (weather permitting) will also be offered. A special holiday raffle will also be featured with generous donations made possible by the Lincklaen House and Empire Farmstead Brewery in Cazenovia, and Village Decoration in East Syracuse; all proceeds will benefit “Christmas at Lorenzo.”
