The Oneida Area Civic Chorale is offering an exciting singing opportunity to area adults with singing experience. In celebration of their 50th Anniversary season, the Chorale is bringing Mark Hayes, internationally known composer, arranger, pianist and conductor to the First Presbyterian Church of Rome for a weekend of music. The June 3-4, 2017 weekend will include a rehearsal and performance of a Community Church Choir led by Mr. Hayes at a worship service, as well as a Chorale Concert.
The Chorale is seeking singers for the Community Church Choir. Singers will learn four anthems written by Mr. Hayes. The choir will rehearse with him on Saturday, June 3 from 10:00 AM to Noon, and perform at a worship service under his baton at 10:00 AM on Sunday, June 4, with a warm-up at 9:00 AM. All activities will be at the First Presbyterian Church of Rome.
Adult singers of all denominations are welcome. Singers should have the ability to learn music independently prior to the event weekend. There will be a $10 charge to cover the cost of music.
The maximum size of the Community Church Choir is 100 singers. The deadline for registration is April 15, 2017. For more information and to obtain a registration form, email Becky Ewen at rewen1@twcny.rr.com or call her at 315-363-1678. For more information about Mark Hayes, visit www.markhayes.com.
