On April 10, 2017, at approximately 10:30 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87 in the Town of Woodbury for a vehicle and traffic violation.
The driver of the vehicle, Semiz Dzinovic, 20, of Utica, was found to be in impaired by drugs. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, passenger Lemeke Pittman, 22, of Utica, was found to be in possession of more than 1.5 pounds of marijuana.
Dzinovic, was evaluated by a drug recognition expert and submitted to a blood draw to determine the drug content in his system. Both men were taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Newburgh, where they were subsequently charged with:
- Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the 2nd Degree; a Class D Felony (Pittman)
- Unlawful Possession of Marijuana; a Violation (Pittman)
- Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs; Unclassified Misdemeanor (Dzinovic)
- Vehicle and Traffic Violation (Dzinovic)
Both men arraigned Monroe Town Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail. Pittman was held on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bail bond, with a return date of April 12, 2017, at 5 p.m. in Woodbury Town Court. Dzinovic was held on $1,000 cash bail or $3,000 bond, with a return date of April 17, 2017, at 6 p.m. in Woodbury Town Court.
