The annual Royal Historian of Oz writing contest is currently underway. The contest is one event of the 40th annual Oz-Stravaganza being held June 2 through 4 in Chittenango, birthplace of L. Frank Baum, author of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
The contest has five divisions for students in fourth grade through adults. Prizes for the winners will be awarded Sunday, June 4, on the main stage in Oz-Stravaganza. The winning story in each division will be read on stage by special guests of the Oz-Stravaganza festival. The complete rules and application can be downloaded at:www.oz-stravaganza.com.
Writers from near and far are welcome to enter. The writing contest is an excellent class assignment for teachers.
