Herkimer College will host a presentation titled Islamophobia: Ways to Cope and Become an Ally on Thursday, April 27, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and again from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in the Robert McLaughlin College Center, room 288.
Licensed counselor Anisa Diab discusses her journey growing up as a Muslim-American and as a parent raising a child in an era of Islamophobia. She will discuss strategies for coping with religious intolerance while addressing common misconceptions and ways to show support and solidarity. The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session and an open discussion.
