On April 30, 2017, at approximately 12:03 p.m., State Police responded to a one-car fatal crash at 11747 North Gage Road in the town of Deerfield.
The investigation has revealed, the operator and sole occupant, David S. Cooney Jr., 27, of Deerfield, was operating a 1999 Mazda B4000 east on North Gage Road when it crossed over into westbound lane, exited the shoulder of the roadway and traveled approximately 200 feet before striking a wooden fence post.
Cooney was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation continues.
