Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi issued the following statement regarding Governor Andrew Cuomo’s announcement that the state is making $28.7 million in funding available for projects to improve transportation mobility for senior citizens and the disabled.
“This funding is an excellent opportunity for municipalities and not-for-profit agencies to improve accessibility and mobility for the elderly and disabled. This funding will help improve things like the accessibility of bus stops; the condition of sidewalks and curbs; and equipment used to guide people at intersections and crosswalks. There still are barriers that make it difficult for Mohawk Valley residents to get from one place to another, and this funding will help make busses, vans, and our infrastructure safer and more accessible.”
