Laurie is fighting lung cancer that has now spread to her brain. Her husband Jim has taken 12 weeks off work without pay, but now has to return to work.
Laurie’s friends and family are hosting a benefit for her on her birthday, Sunday, May 21, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Rusty Rail Party House, Route 5, Canastota. The cost is $15 per person and includes buffet.
There will be a cash bar, basket raffles and 50/50 drawing.
