Six New Raiders Set to Join Program in the Fall

Colgate women’s soccer head coach Kathy Brawn has announced the addition of six new Raiders who will comprise the program’s Class of 2021. The six student-athletes will come to Hamilton from five different states across all regions of the country and bring with them accomplished athletic and academic pedigrees.

“Assistant coaches Alyssa (Manoogian) and Jenna (Gibney) have proven their mettle as outstanding recruiters,” said Brawn. “We are all looking forward to officially welcoming the class of 2021 to our program. They bring with them a sense of purpose, commitment and intensity that will positively impact our team. This is a talented, loyal, intelligent group of women that will excel in the classroom and on the soccer field.”

Below are the six new members of the Colgate women’s soccer program.

#0 Sophia Boggs – Goalkeeper – Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks South

Before Colgate

Boggs guided her Central Bucks South team to a spot in the State Championship finals as a senior in 2016. The netminder tallied an impressive 0.58 goals against average to go along with 178 saves and 16 shutouts as a senior en route to her second-straight team MVP honor. Boggs was named the Philadelphia Intelligencer Women’s Soccer Player of the Year as a senior and was a two-time first team All-League pick. She was also selected for the Women’s National Training Pool in 2015, was a four-year member of the FC Bucks ECNL Team and a 2017 participant in the ECNL Player Development Program.

#12 Sage DiGiulio – Midfielder – Denver, Colo./Kent Denver School

Before Colgate

DiGiulio was named the Metropolitan Class 3A Player of the Year after recording 19 goals and 9 assists to lead her Kent Denver School squad to a State Championship as a junior in 2016. She wrapped up her high school career with impressive marks of 42 goals and 16 assists, while earning a pair of All-State honors. DiGiulio was named the team’s Most Valuable Player following the State Championship run in 2016. The midfielder helped guide her Colorado Rush ECNL team to two-straight playoff appearances in 2015 and 2016 and was a three-time ECNL/id2 National Camp attendee.

Family: Daughter of Dean and Darcy DiGiulio…has one sister.

#23 Julia Lindsey – Defender – Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge High School

Before Colgate

An accomplished player out of Basking Ridge, N.J., Lindsey helped lead her Ridge High School team to a pair of State Championship appearances including the 2015 state crown. The three-time All-Conference pick scored 35 goals and recorded 15 assists as the Red Devils went 69-11-10 over her four-year career. She tallied six goals and nine assists as her team’s points leader during her senior season while guiding the team to its second-straight trip to the State Championship. Lindsey guided her Match Fit ECNL team to the Champions League playoffs in 2015 and 2016 and helped lead the squad to the ECNL finals and a fifth-place national finish in 2015. Strong off the field as well, Lindsey was selected as a NSCAA High School Scholar All-American, a member of the National Honor Society and the President of her school’s chapter of Habitat for Humanity.

#8 Syd Maxson – Defender – Centennial, Colo./Arapahoe High School

Before Colgate

Maxson comes to Colgate from Arapahoe High School in Centennial, Colo. where she was a four-time All-League pick and an All-State selection. She guided her team to runner-up status in the 5A State Championship as a senior, while scoring six goals and four assists in her final season and earning first team All-State honors. Maxson started 65 games throughout her career and was a two-year captain, two-time team Defensive MVP and the team’s Overall MVP in 2015. Maxson led her club team to a Northwestern Conference Championship in 2017 as the squad qualified for ECNL Nationals.

#16 Ellis Miller – Forward – Dallas, Texas/Episcopal School of Dallas

Before Colgate

Miller helped guide her Episcopal School of Dallas to conference championships in all four years of her career. The forward earned All-Conference honors in each of her four years, finishing her high school career with 83 goals and 47 assists. Miller was tabbed as a Top Drawer Soccer Texas All-Star High School Forward in 2015 before serving as a team captain in each of her last two seasons. She capped off her career with a stellar senior campaign, scoring 26 goals and adding 10 assists. Miller played for both the Dallas Texans ECNL 99 (2015-17) and Sting ECNL 98 (2011-2015), making the ECNL National Championships and Elite 8 for three-straight years. In addition to her achievements on the field, Miller was a member of the National Honor Society, the French and Mathematics Honor Societies and the Student Council Executive Board.

#20 Sofia Sabatelli – Midfielder – Bethany, Conn./Hamden Hall Country Day School

Before Colgate

A two-time All-League and All-Area selection, Sabatelli will come to Colgate from Hamden Hall Country Day School. Sabatelli was a two-time team captain for the Hornets, finishing her career with 18 goals and 27 assists. She capped off her career by tallying seven goals and 12 assists as a senior. Sabatelli earned her team’s MVP honors and was also a member of the Philosophy and School Spirit clubs. She played for the Connecticut Football Club on the elite academy team and was a member of the state ODP team for three years.

Family: Daughter of Arnold Sabatelli and Dwyn DeSilver…has two brothers.
