Merry-Go-Round Youth Theatre is coming to Oneida Public Library, 220 Broad St., July 31, to perform for children of all ages at 11 a.m., the premier of “Huff and Puff: A Pig Tale,” a brand new adaptation by Shane Strawbridge of the classic fable “The Three Little Pigs.”

As the three pigs set out to build their houses, they meet several fairy-tale characters such as Rapunzel and Goldilocks, and everyone has an opinion about “building the better house.” After much comic mayhem and slapstick, it’s left to the Big Bad Wolf on the doorstep to determine the best of the three.

The Merry-Go-Round Youth Theatre is a fully professional company of actors that performs and teaches throughout Upstate New York. It reportedly reaches throughout the academic year more than 100,000 students across the state through its multi-disciplined Sequential Dramatics program. During the summer, it performs staged shows based on classic fairy tales and legends at public libraries, churches, parks and schools.

The Merry-Go-Round Youth Theatre performance at the OPL is free and open to children and adults of any age, and it is made possible by the support of the Friends of the Oneida Public Library.
