Recently, Assemblyman Brian Miller (R,I-New Hartford) attended the opening ceremonies for the 2017 Herkimer County Fair. This year’s event runs from August 15 – 20. While at the event, Miller met with volunteers and 2017-18 Herkimer County Dairy Princess Connie Louise Frasier.
“This was a great day in our community kicking off our annual county fair in Herkimer County,” said Miller. “This event has a little something for everyone including pageants, a talent showcase, a tractor pull, demolition derbies, horse shows and more. This is definitely an event to bring the entire family out to and we are proud of this long-running tradition in our community.”
The fair’s history dates back more than 170 years, having started in 1841 as the Herkimer County Agricultural Society. The first official fair was held in 1958 with 14,000 in attendance. More than 60,000 are expected to attend this year.
Assemblyman Miller represents the 101st District consisting of parts of Delaware, Herkimer, Oneida, Orange, Otsego, Sullivan and Ulster counties. For more information, visit Assemblyman Miller’s Official Website.
