Lebanon Democrats nominated a full slate of candidates for town office at their caucus Aug. 19 at the Smith Valley Community Center in Randallsville and also gave their strong support to the candidacy of
Democratic candidate Acting Sheriff and Undersheriff John Ball for Madison County Sheriff after hearing a presentation from Ball. Ball is also seeking an independent ballot line.
Party Chairwoman Judi Clippinger announced that the Democratic ticket for the fall will be as follows:
Town Supervisor – incumbent Supervisor Jim Goldstein of South Lebanon Road, who is also running on the Independent Farm Development and Renewable Energy party line. Goldstein has been town supervisor since 2002.
Town Council — incumbent Councilwoman Patricia Matson of Craine Lake Road and newcomer Adam Carvell of Campbell Road. Incumbent Councilman Ron Jones is not seeking re-election. Matson is seeking a second term of office.
Town Clerk/Tax Collector – incumbent Joann Collins of Bradley Brook Road, who is also running as an independent. Collins is seeking a second term of office.
Town Highway Superintendent – incumbent Alex Hodge, who is also running on the Republican party line. Hodge has been highway superintendent since 2000.
Town Justice – incumbent Brian Forsythe who is also running on the Republican Party line. Forsythe is a retired state trooper seeking a second term of office.
Town Democrats encourage all voters to participate in the Nov. 7 general election.
