To the Editor:
I am writing in support of re-electing Eve Ann Shwartz as Hamilton supervisor, re-electing Peter Darby as councilman, and electing Mary Lee Dinski to a first term to the council.
Eve Ann and Peter have been instrumental in creating a solvent SOMAC and reorganizing it with 24/7 paramedic coverage. They have increased support for the Partnership for Community Development that has brought new jobs to the town, increased the tax base, and assisted low-income homeowners.
Together with the council, they have addressed the issue of salt leaching into the Sangerfield River through the construction of a salt storage shed. The council has created a transparent budgeting process with annual audits. They have been working with the village and Colgate to achieve Climate Smart Communities status for the town, making the town eligible for additional state aid. They deserve the community’s support.
Mary is a newcomer to the election process but not to Hamilton—she is a graduate of Hamilton Central School. She is Fiver’s Deputy Executive Director and will bring budgeting and organizational expertise as well as a young and fresh perspective to the town council.
Mary lives in the village of Hamilton. The village contains about two-thirds of the town residents, but there is only one village resident currently on the Council, and she has decided not to run for re-election.  Electing Mary will ensure that village residents will continue to be represented on the town council.
Please vote for Eve Ann Shwartz, Peter Darby and Mary Lee Dinski on either the Democratic or Good Government line on election day.
Russ Lura, Hamilton
