Ann Jones, Democratic candidate for Madison County Clerk, has received the endorsement of several local labor unions, including the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) at the local and statewide levels, the Central and Northern New York Building and Construction Trades Council, and the Central New York Area Labor Federation AFL-CIO. Collectively, these groups represent thousands of workers in Madison County.
“These unions represent the people employed in the departments overseen by the county clerk. I am thrilled and grateful for the support of the unions’ leadership and membership,” Jones said.
Jones has served as the Democratic Deputy Election Commissioner since 2004. Her community service includes serving as a board member for Community Action Partnership, Bridges–Madison County Council on Alcoholism & Substance Abuse, Cazenovia League of Women Voters, and the Fenner Renewable Energy Education (FREE) Center. She has also served as a co-chair of the Madison County Employee Assistance Program (EAP), parent advocate for the Special Education Committee in the Cazenovia School District, tutor for migrant families, steward at the Gerrit Smith Estate, dispatcher for the Cazenovia Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps (CAVAC), and secretary to the Morrisville Fire District. Jones is a former educator who has a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree in public administration.
“We need to ensure that government services are efficient and accessible to all. I have had ample opportunity, through my formal education, work experiences, and serving the community, to build a solid platform that includes positive thinking, confident communication skills, and proven leadership abilities,” Jones said.
