The public is invited to a Meet-the-Candidates night at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, at the Smithfield Community Center, 5255 Pleasant Valley Road in Peterboro.

John Ball, candidate for Madison County sheriff, and Ann Jones, candidate for Madison County clerk,
will be speaking at the meeting. Daniel J. Davis, running for Smithfield highway superintendent, and Brenda A. Goff, candidate for Smithfield Town Council will also be speaking.

Candidates will provide a brief introduction to themselves and their reasons for seeking office, and then respond to questions from the audience. Jones will also explain the three propositions that will be on the back of the ballot, as well as answer questions on the voting procedures for the Tuesday, Nov. 7, general election (polling places open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
